I'm hoping to find something that would scan my library, apply identical artist and title tags for dupes, but keep all other metadata and file names/folders the same.
#Using beatunes to remove duplicates software#
It seems most software is focused on scanning music, then deleting dupes. Unfortunately, I've noticed that several duplicates seem not to be recognized by Beatunes, often due to tagging.Īs such, I have been looking into AcoustID fingerprinting, but am not sure what would be the best way to move forward. What I have also tried to do is have all duplicate songs (from differing albums) use identical "artist" and "title" tags.

Specifically, Beatunes has allowed me to apply song ratings to duplicate songs (of which I have many, due to keeping full albums intact, and having a mix of anthologies, compilations, soundtracks, studio albums, etc. Over the last decade, I've used various scripts to clean things up, as well as a program called Beatunes. Basically, i just keep filling my Nano with random unrated music, listen and rate on the go, sync with iTunes, remove rated songs from Nano, add more unrated. I use varying SmartPlaylists, many of which are ratings based, and I love using iTunes "Autofill" functionality in conjunction with varying playlists. Also, for new unrated music, my favourite player is iPod Nano 4th gen, which is the perfect size for my hand, and whose clickwheel functionality is best for rating music and syncing to database. I hardly ever listen to albums as a whole. While I'm very much aware of the shortcomings of iTunes (most obvious being no FLAC support), there were several easy to use features I simply could not replicate elsewhere. The primary database software that I use to manage my library is Windows iTunes. My library is entirely mp3 based, with the vast majority being v0 that I converted from FLAC.

I've been with nearly all the music trackers since torrenting began, and through this, have developed ecclectic open minded music taste for nearly all genres. I have fairly large music library that I have been building up since mid 00's.
